Meet Dr. Wes Schoenthal, a pediatric dentist who discovered his passion for making dental visits fun! Originally from Edwardsville, Illinois, Dr. Schoenthal moved to the Augusta area to join his wife, who is a general surgery resident at Fort Eisenhower.

Dr. Schoenthal‘s educational journey includes undergraduate studies at Saint Louis University, followed by his Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He completed his specialized training in pediatric dentistry during his residency at Saint Louis University Pediatric Dentistry.

When asked about choosing pediatric dentistry, Dr. Schoenthal shares that during dental school rotations, he realized he was having “way more fun” in the pediatric clinic than anywhere else. He had a blast connecting with young patients and helping them enjoy their visit, which led him to make it his career!

Outside the office, Dr. Schoenthal cherishes time with his family. He met his wife in college, and they married in 2023. His parents and two younger brothers still live back in his hometown of Edwardsville. Despite being grown up, he still enjoys getting together with his brothers to play video games virtually or in person.

Dr. Schoenthal has a wide range of hobbies! You might find him immersed in video games, board games, or tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. He’s also a big fan of action movies, especially superhero flicks, and has a passion for writing his own science fiction stories. When the weather is nice, he also enjoys going for runs in the evenings and on weekends.
